In the year and a half that I've been metalsmithing, aside from a few pairs of earrings which I've made duplicates of, I've yet to sit down and make something from scratch just for me. Most of my pieces in my personal collection are either things I decided not to sell because something wasn't quite right, or things that I made for Foxy (and therefore aren't really in my personal collection).
This week I decided that needed to change.
Here's my gift to me:
She's a beauty, don't ya think? I'm pretty in love and so glad I don't have to feel conflicted about selling her. ♥
I will make more of these armor rings in the future but maybe not right away. This baby was a beast! I literally shed blood and sweat (no tears) on this piece.
She was worth it, though.
There you go, soul, wear it and bloom!

I haven't been completely selfish this week. I've also been working on a couple of custom and made to order pieces and this little charoite button necklace, which is in the shop now:
Happy weekend !!
Buffy, xo
it is gorgeous! what is the red stone? i'm so glad you finally made something for yourself!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimee! I'm actually not sure what the stone is. I found it mixed in with a bunch of moonstones (which are white) at a weird new agey bookstore/jewelry store in Kansas City. My best guess is Carnelian.
ReplyDeleteThe ring is gorgeous! You wear it well!
ReplyDeleteLove that red stone...it's beautiful!
