You've kept me busy filling orders.

I've just got one Wonderland Ring left:

Turquoise and Sterling, of course. :)

The plan for this coming week, along with working on some custom orders, is a few vintage glass rings and maybe a pendant or two?

Forest Nymphs

The girls and I had to entertain ourselves all weekend as Dr. Foxy was a very busy beaver (hmm... mixed metaphor? oh well, it stays).

We managed okay, my little forest nymphs and I.

Oh, and as promised I listed a couple of new rings. There's still a turquoise Wonderland Ring on the bench that's being a bit of a boor, but it should be up sometime this week.

 SOLD

Available here

It was a busy week in the shop! I spent today restocking necessities in the shop and filling some made-to-order orders.
A day making wedding bands is always a good day.

Thank you all for your lovely support! It means the world!

We're All Mad Here

The Mad Hatter: You're not the same as you were before.
You were much more... "muchier." You've lost your "muchness."

Alice: My "muchness?"

The Mad Hatter: (Points to Alice's heart) In there.

I recently re-watched Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland, and was inspired to create a line of rings for the Muchy Alice at the end of the film. Warrior Alice. The Alice who can slay a dragon!

Or maybe... maybe they're actually for the Alice at the beginning of the film. To remind her that she *is* the Alice at the end of the film...

Wear this ring and summon your muchness.

In the shop here
(sorry, the turquoise one is already gone, but I promise there will be more!).

I've had a rather unproductive couple of weeks in the studio (sick kids, pro-d days, just some-of-those-days, blah, blah, blah), but it all turned out okay since these rings were the final result and I am so so in love with them. I have a few more things near completion on my bench and will definitely be making more of these also!

I trust you all had a good Halloween. Halloween is always kind of a big deal in our family. It was always our favorite, but then our "little" one decided to come into the world on that day five years ago and now it's especially extra special.

And I have to say, Vancouver does Halloween well.

We had so much fun trick or treating last night.

I've never seen a neighborhood so in the spirit.

So many spooky houses.

Grown ups playing witches and ghouls and goblins.

Fireworks!

Even honest-to-goodness fog.

It was straight out of a movie set.

Couldn't have been more perfect.

Happy Friday, my friends!

Another year older...

It's my birthday! Somehow, I've marked 34 lighting-quick years on this earth. Last night in our kitchen the conversation turned to a discussion of how old each of us actually felt. My answer, which was mocked as being random, was 24. But it's true. I don't feel as young as 23, but I don't feel like I should be approaching 30 yet either. See, not random at all! But, of course, the reality is that I'm getting close to approaching FORTY! Okay, let's not get ahead of ourselves... I'm still in my early 30s. Right?

Ahem.

Last night I got to spend a delightful 3 hours in my studio, uninterrupted by waking babies (thanks to our lovely new roommate!) or homework or household duties. I feel creatively refreshed today! My studio's like a spa for my artistic spirit.

And I finished another piece. This one will be in the shop sometime later today:

Rusticated sterling silver bangle bracelet with sleeping beauty turquoise and rhodochrosite charms. And of course my buffalo stamp on the back of the turquoise piece.  The charms play like chimes as it dangles about your wrist. Jingle jangle.

Oh, and I wanted to share this with you! Guess what the foxy one came across as she was walking up the steps to her building last week:

It's a fox!! Right in front of the door to her office building! There's a whole family of them living in the bushes to the right of this walkway. I told her he came out to greet her because he felt her fabulously foxy kindred spirit!

Okay, I'm off to enjoy birthday festivities. Homemade cranberry upside down cake awaits...

Map of the World

What a lovely weekend! On Saturday one of our daughters' favorite people came over and took the girls downtown for Earth Day festivities... which allowed me to finish this:

I love this stone. It's a gorgeous blue Chinese Turquoise with black matrix that makes you feel like you're wearing an ornamental (though slightly inaccurate) version of a map of the world around your neck. A pretty pink tourmaline compliments the focal stone and both are set in oxidized sterling silver. The chain has a lobster claw clasp, is fully adjustable, and is punctuated by a bead of rhodochrosite. I am once again left with the feeling that this just might be my favorite piece so far. How am I going to part with these?!

Speaking of parting with my work, I am getting ready to announce a date for the grand opening of my shop. I will not have as many pieces as I'd like to open with, but I'll start with what I have and then you can look forward to frequent shop updates as I create new pieces. I just have to work out a few details and then I'll update with the big news.

The rest of the weekend was as delightful as Saturday. Yesterday we all ("we all" includes Lilah the skinny brown dog and Spooky the cat-who's-not-really-a-cat) took an evening walk through our beautiful historic neighborhood. Who couldn't love Lawrence in the spring?! The walk was followed by a surprise tea party, hosted by the lovely Ms. Aidan and complete with place cards and party favors.

We made the fuzzy little puppies on Friday evening.

Yep. I have it pretty good.

Illness and Inspiration

I have no new pieces to share with you as of yet, BUT I am working on some that I am very anxious to finish and show you! I went to a gem show over the weekend and came home with some inspiring goodies:

However, it's spring break and the kids are out of school (and daycare), my oldest is sick, as is the lovely Foxy... so I haven't had much studio time since bringing home my treasures. But just you wait! You're going to love what's coming.
