Super Secret Sale

Okay, it's not super secret. But if you're not a blog or Facebook follower, you wouldn't know about it!

I've only got a week left until I am finished at my day job (!!) and we leave for our 3 week vacation to the east coast. I feel like I might spontaneously combust from the stress of it at the moment (or maybe it's just the heat...). But it won't be long now...

Which is why I'm having a sale! Just a few more days before I close up the shop for 3 weeks. So between now and then:

Hot as Heck!

I remember pretty much every 4th of July since I moved to Kansas (14 years ago!) as the turning point for unbearable weather. From here until about the first week in October (I moved here on October 3, 1997 and I still remember the feeling of walking off that plane into the stifling heat and humidity like it was yesterday) we don't really spend much time outside. Thank goodness we're heading to Northampton in a few weeks and will get to hit the beach at least a few times!

In other news, I've added a new made-to-order ring to the shop.

I just quit my day job!!

I've been anticipating this post for a while now but wanted to wait until it was official. 

And now it's official.

I have four more weeks as a grant administrator and then I will officially be a full time silversmith and mama! 

Our reasoning behind coming to this decision was based on the fact that, as I touched upon in this post, our little Alice will no longer be able to attend her current daycare program after this summer. We spent the last few months researching our options for her care in the fall and just have not been able to find anything we felt comfortable with. SOooo...

Alice will be attending a special preschool program 4 mornings a week (during which time I will be busily working away in my studio and trying to build my little business) and in the afternoons she'll be home with me! I'm excited that this will also mean more time with my big girl, who is going into 3rd grade and will no longer need to go to her after school program!

I can't even begin to tell you how I feel right now. Relief, joy, anticipation.

A little fear. 

 But this is definitely cause for celebration!! In fact, I feel my first giveaway coming on!

For now, I'm off to celebrate with a fruity cocktail concoction of some sort!
